Maysville, KY (March 9, 2020) – Carlson Software is excited to announce the release of the RT4 advanced tablet-style data collector. Built on the success of the RT3, the RT4 is the next evolution in rugged handheld computing and data collection. Offering performance increases across the board, the RT4 is backed by Carlson’s unparalleled technical support.

“It’s not the form factor that’s new with this release,” said Butch Herter, Carlson’s Director of Hardware Development. “It’s the new power and flexibility inside that sets the RT4 apart.”

The RT4 sees the addition of a new quad-core Intel® Pentium processor that offers the speed and flexibility specialists running processor-intensive applications need in the field. Additionally, the RT4 sees a doubling of system memory (RAM) to 8GB. This increase allows for more demanding tasks, larger files, and more programs running concurrently.

The RT4 in the field

Like the RT3, the RT4 comes in with an IP68 rating and meets MIL-STD-810G test procedures. These tests mean the RT4 is waterproof, dustproof, and shockproof – ensuring protected data in even the harshest environments.

The Carlson RT4 is designed for land surveyors, contractors and GIS mapping professionals. The RT4 runs Windows 10 and comes bundled with Carlson SurvPC – Carlson’s Windows-based data collection program – with the option of running with the Esri® OEM program for use in the field.
